1. Information we collect
- Contact details you provide directly: name, email address, and any details submitted through our contact form or in correspondence with us.
- Transaction information needed to process a purchase: billing name, email, and the product/service purchased. Full card, UPI or bank credentials are collected and processed directly by our payment providers (Razorpay, PayPal and, once enabled, Paddle) — we do not store them on our systems.
- Account and app information, if you use one of our apps (such as Kopiva): the details you give when you sign up (name, email address, country and, optionally, phone number), your consent choices, the content you submit (such as writing samples and briefs) and the outputs saved in your account.
- Usage information such as pages visited and general device/browser information, used to keep the Site working correctly and to understand how it's used.
2. How we use your information
- To deliver purchased products, grant course access, and provide access to the applications you subscribe to.
- To process payments, issue receipts, and handle refund or support requests.
- To respond to enquiries submitted via the Contact page or email.
- To send purchase confirmations and, where you've opted in, occasional updates about new products or content.
- To run the apps you use, including processing the content you submit to generate outputs.
- To comply with applicable tax, accounting and legal obligations in India.
We rely on these grounds: performing our contract with you (delivering products and apps, handling payments and support); complying with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting); your consent (for optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interest in keeping the Site and apps secure and working properly, where the law allows.
3. Payment processing
Payments are handled by third parties:
- Customers in India: Razorpay, acting as a payment gateway.
- Customers outside India: once Paddle checkout is enabled, Paddle, acting as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle receives the billing, tax and payment information it needs and processes it under its own privacy notice. Paddle checkout is not yet enabled.
- PayPal, acting as a payment gateway for international payments until Paddle checkout is enabled, and for any product Paddle does not cover.
Each provider processes your payment details under its own privacy policy and security standards. ellegre receives confirmation of successful payment and the minimum billing information required to fulfil your order; we do not access or store your full payment credentials.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Payment providers (Razorpay, PayPal and, once its checkout is enabled, Paddle as Merchant of Record) to complete transactions;
- AI model providers (such as Google) that process the content you submit to an app so it can generate outputs;
- Service providers who help us operate the Site (e.g. hosting, email delivery), under confidentiality obligations; and
- Authorities where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.
5. Data retention & security
We retain personal and transaction information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet accounting, tax and legal record-keeping requirements under Indian law. Content and outputs in an app account are kept until you delete them or close your account. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
6. Cookies
The Site may use essential cookies to keep it functioning correctly, and, where enabled, analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Your rights & how to exercise them
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you (such as your name, email address and phone number), to have it corrected if it is inaccurate, and to have it deleted. To make any such request, email us at info@ellegre.com with “Data request” in the subject line. We will respond to every verified request within 90 days, in line with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
8. International users
If you are located outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India (and wherever our payment and AI providers operate), which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
